Akdeniz University (UNIAKD) is a state university founded in 1982 in the west of Antalya city centre. UNIAKD currently has 20,146 students of which 816 are in masters and 587 are in doctorate programs. There are currently 11 faculties and a conservatory active in the university. There are also 4 vocational schools within the university providing bachelor degree courses and 8 vocational schools established in Antalya and its surrounding districts which offer pre-graduate courses. The staffs consist of 1309 administrative personnel and 1671 academics. 219 professors are supported by 121 associate professors and 220 assistant professors. UNIAKD sustain its research and development activities with 21 research centres located in university campus. Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences is one of the important faculties in Akdeniz University founded in 1993, having 1703 undergraduate students, 226 master students and 51 doctorate students. Faculty has 58 academics of which 16 professors, 6 associate professors and 36 assistant professors and 1 lecturer. Four research centres are established within the faculty; one of them is Economical Research Center on Mediterranean Countries associated with Department of Economics. Recently, the department has about 500 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students attending master (in economics and, food economics and management programs) and doctorate (economics) programs. Academic staff includes both economist and agricultural economist. |
