The University of Ruse ‘Angel Kanchev’ was founded on 12 November 1945. Ruse University educates students in the engineering fields, natural sciences, education, law, public health and health care, business and management. University of Ruse is a state higher education institution,
evaluated as “very good” (the highest evaluation grade) and
accredited by the National Accreditation and Evaluation Agency
in Bulgaria. It is a regular member of the European Universities
Association and of the Danube Rectors' Conference . The University of Ruse includes 8 faculties. One of them is Faculty of Transport Engineering with two specialities: Transportation Technologies and Management; Transport Engineering. A distinctive strength of the research output is its relevance to european and national priorities and to regional and local needs for sustainable development. By the National Research Fund and public-private partnerships, projects for innovative products/ideas are supported on competitive grounds. Research teams are regularly working in all faculty specialization fields: Transport and logistics; Transport and safety; Internal combustion engines; Small and medium-sized companies marketing; Industrial management logistics; Integrated systems for agricultural production; Biofuels; Industrial heating technologies; Energy saving technologies; Ecological security; Machine-building technologies; Metal-processing technologies; Metrology and quality management; Electricity supply in industry and agriculture; Applied economics; Business information technologies; Services management; Sustainable development; European regional and border area studies and etc. The University staff is annually involved in about scientific and research 10 projects , financed by: the Seventh Framework Programme, PHARE, NATO, Structural funds and other international funds. Aiming at the development of best academic practices, the staff participates in more than 25 EU education projects. |
