LOG4SMEs - Improving Logistics Performance of SMEs in the Automotive Sector |
![]() |
LOG4SMEs project aims to enable SMEs to benchmark their individual current logistics performances with the industry average and the regional average as well as with the best performer. This will help SMEs to identify their current performance gaps. The project also aims to raise the awareness of the clusters' companies of common logistical problems and to motivate them to address these problems. |
|
Added value for SMEs Log4SMEs made an interesting analysis of 48 companies from 3 regions (Lombardy - IT, West Pannon - HU, Baden-Wurttemberg - DE) in the automotive and mechanical sector. It identified the state-off the art of logistics processes for different sizes and complexity categories of companies. It focused on the use of ICT tools at different levels of complexity and identified companies that are lagging behind. The main finding was that companies, although relatively well equiped with ICT, are reluctant to use alll the possibilities of their ICT, especially advanced measurement of performance. By reading the final report of the project, SMEs can compare their logistics performance and standards to the survey results and identify possible similarities, gaps, etc. and learn about possible ways and measures to improve their performance in the critical fields. |
