The CORELOG project addressed the definition and operative testing of regional logistics policies and actions to be coordinated among institutional actors, responsible for policy making, financing and investment decisions and manufacturing companies, logistics providers, transport operators, transport & logistics nodes, whose supply chain strategies and decisions strongly affect the spatial pattern and the modal split of freight transport. |

Added value for SMEs The project was comprised of nine pilots that addressed different problems related to freight transport and logistics. Problems of SMEs were directly addressed in several pilots and cooperative solutions were developed. All 3 pilots carried out by Regione Emilia Romagna were very focused on the problems of logistics and transport SMEs and developed interesting solutions that are still overlooked as of now by SMEs and policy-makers, in spite of the fact that the project finished in 2007. The Slovenian pilot also highlighted interesting solutions to problems of transport and transport ordering companies. Additionally, the Polish and Hungarian pilots could also be interesting for some SMEs - the two pilots studied how it would be possible to shift cargo from road to rail - especially on corridors. |
