I-LOG - Industrial logistics

The project aim was to define a set of instruments that SMEs would use to rationalize the logistic and transport systems of each local productive system participating in the project. This set of instruments, taken from a common analysis methodology, in first place, considers and optimises the existing infrastructures and assets in terms of both logistics and transport resources.
Moreover, the I-Log project represents an important mean to fulfil the need for the development of a “logistic culture”. This will be done through seminaries, workshop and particularly through the realization of a network between local productive systems. The aim is to facilitate the exchange of best practices and the development of industrial relations.

Added value for SMEs

The final report of this project is a fine collection of best practices and knowledge relevant for regions that aim at improving the logistics performance of their industrial clusters (especially SMEs), as well as for transport and logistics SMEs and manufacturing or services SMEs that are looking for new possibilities to improve their logistics performance.

I-LOG experience allows an evaluation of several measures to enhance the competitiveness of a local productive system through the improvement of the logistic performance of the SMEs. The I-LOG model prong the whole set of leverages suitable for pilot projects, some “organisational measures” able to effectively affect on logistics performance indicators of the surveyed SMEs.
